What Inspired Your Journey into Photography?
Photography became my passion when I discovered its power to freeze moments and tell stories. What started as a way to document life soon became a means to capture emotions, landscapes, and details. More than just pictures, photography preserves memories and perspectives that might otherwise fade.
How Do a Photo Session Work?
Feel free to share pose or outfit ideas before your session! During the shoot, we’ll move between locations, using guided poses or natural prompts. Seniors can reference a gallery of inspiration shots for ideas. I’ll show previews on my camera to ensure you're happy with your look. Within 72 hours, you’ll receive a preview gallery to select your preferred editing style. Expect at least 40 images for a 30-minute session and 80+ for an hour. Once your final gallery is ready, you can download favorites and purchase additional images. Retouching requests (e.g., acne removal) are available upon request!
Would you make a video of our session?
I love creating video sessions! I record the entire shoot, then edit the highlights with music of your choice (or mine). It’s a great way to capture genuine moments of laughter, bonding, and joy—perfect for families and graduating seniors. Many clients say their video becomes the most cherished part of their experience!
How Many Photos Will I Receive, and Can I Choose Which Ones Are Edited?
I carefully select and edit the best shots then send to client for proofing to ensure the final images have my signature style. This approach helps me manage time while delivering high-quality photos. Each session includes a curated gallery—around 40–50 images for 30 minutes and up to 100 for an hour. Clients can download a set number based on their package, with the option to purchase more or even the full gallery at a discounted rate. My goal is to provide images you truly love while maintaining a sustainable workflow!
How Do I Pose?
I'll guide you through every pose, capturing a mix of posed and candid moments—yes, even some “fake” laughing that looks naturally joyful! I have a gallery of poses for inspiration, but feel free to share ideas or locations you love. For solo portraits, sending me a few favorite photos beforehand helps me understand your preferred angles. Throughout the session, I’ll show you previews so you can request adjustments. My goal is to bring your vision to life and make sure you love every shot!
What Should I/We Wear?
Outfits play a big role in your photos! Wear something that makes you feel confident and comfortable. I suggest women choose their outfit first and coordinate others around it. Avoid dressing everyone in the exact same color or pattern, as it can create a “Family Blob” effect. Instead, go for coordinating colors that complement each other without being too uniform for a natural, balanced look.
What About Our Hairstyles?
For family sessions, a half-up, half-down style works well for moms and daughters to keep hair from covering faces during poses. Ponytails are a great option for kids. If you prefer wearing your hair down, use a bobby pin to tuck the front section behind your ear for a polished look.
How Can I Help the Session Run Smoothly?
Relax and enjoy the session! Kids can sense stress, so staying calm helps create natural, beautiful photos. I’ll guide the process while you focus on having fun—great images will follow!
Can I have my Session at Home?
Yes! I can do sessions at your home or property when the lighting is best. Just note that kids aged 2–10 may be more playful at home, so a neutral location might help them stay focused.
How Do Headshot and Senior Sessions Work?
Headshot and senior portrait sessions include an extra proofing step and fine portrait editing. Before the session, you can share pose ideas or ask for outfit tips. During the shoot, I’ll guide you and show previews. Within 72 hours, you’ll receive a style preview to choose your preferred editing look. A week later, you'll get a proof gallery (around 50–100 images), from which you can select your included photos or purchase extras. Final edits, including retouching if needed, will be delivered within 4–6 days, making the full process take about 9–12 days.
What Is Your Cancellation Policy?
Life happens, and I aim to keep things simple. A $50 deposit secures your date, and if illness or weather interferes, you can reschedule within six months (subject to availability). Cancellations within 48 hours (excluding illness or weather) forfeit the deposit, requiring a new one to rebook. If rescheduling due to weather was previously discussed, the 48-hour rule doesn’t apply. Seasonal promotions (e.g., mini sessions) cannot be switched to traditional sessions without a rate adjustment.
How Long Does It Take to Edit My Photos, and How Do I Get My Edited Images?
Editing is my favorite part of the process! I spend about 4–5 hours editing per hour of shooting, and you’ll receive your full gallery within 7 days (or up to 10 days during peak season). Sneak peeks with editing style options are sent within 48 hours. Once your photos are ready, I’ll email you a gallery link with download instructions, and you’re free to print or share them as you wish.
